I have decided to release these fourteen NSFs one day early.
You can get the NSFs HERE.
That's all for this update, enjoy. Happy Halloween!!
Once again at the start of the month, I have eleven NSFs for release. Two more Shenzhen Nanjing Technology rips and some commercial rips.
You can get the NSFs HERE.
That's all for this update, enjoy.
Once again at the start of the month, I have thirteen NSFs for release. A few more Shenzhen Nanjing Technology rips and some commercial rips.

That's all for this update, enjoy.
Today I have seven NSFs for you to listen to. Five commercial released games and two from Shenzhen Nanjing Technology. You may notice Chrono Trigger on the list, for those that want to know more about this crazy Chinese Famicom game, go check out an article written by D (Derrick Sobodash). The other Shenzhen Nanjing Technology game is Chao Ji Ji Qi Ren Da Zhan A (NJ012), I believe this game is Super Robot Wars A.
Among the other NSF rips, I am not sure if Ball Story II is commercial or not. Umiliphus had stated that it was odd that Desert Commander was missing from the archives. Well, now that problem has been solved as the NSF is now ripped. I'm going to state the entire list now.
You can get the NSFs HERE.
I think that I'll update again and soon, for the start of a good month. I have a decent batch of NSFs to release, some commerical, pirate and Shenzhen Nanjing Technology NSFs.
You can get the NSFs HERE.
Error Corrections
I have been doing a little bit of website cleaning lately, before anything gets out of control in the future. Uchuusen Cosmo Carrier translation page had some duplicate images that were not in the image viewer, so I removed them. I have a lot more to do, so stay tuned.
UPDATE: I have also updated the readme to Storehouse No.18, Djinn a Russian guy made the Russian table file for me, since I didn't have a clue how to do so at the time (I was also having encoding issues, which I managed to solve thankfully).
Site Changes
I have remodled the translation selection page to look a little more organized. I have arranged the projects according to the project's status. I have three categories, Complete, In Progress and Dead.
Translation Update
Gall Force - Eternal Story, I'm still working on this game and trying to beat it. So far, as I have said lately that I haven't been able to so far. Also, I have not been able to cheat and go directly to the end screen to translate. I did do some additional hacking to the diskloading screens to make them look better.
I have also added a page for Gall Force - Eternal Story on the newly remodled translation page.
That's all for this update.

Today I present you with the 100% complete Russian to English translation of the game Warehouse No.18, which has been re-titled to Storehouse No.18. Originally designed for play on the Dendy, a unlicensed Russian Famicom clone console system.
As far as the game is concerned, Storehouse No.18 is a Sokoban clone. For those that are familiar with Sokoban, know that the objective of the game is to push boxes around in a maze to their designated storage spaces. There are two modes to this game, Game mode and Editor mode. In game mode, you simply play the game and select the storehouse that you wish to play according to ID number. In Editor mode, you can design your own storehouses and then play them afterwards.
To my knowledge, this is the first Russian to English ROMhack fan translation. All text has been translated to English, windows resized in some cases to accommodate longer or shorter lines of text. ASM hacking has been done to remove the hack protection scheme that prevents the altering of certain bytes in the ROM, the effect is that the game will stall in reset mode if the check fails. The annoying grey screen before the title screen loads has been reduced to one frame so that you barely notice it exists.
If you wish to play this Russian to English translation, go to the page Here, download the patch and then have fun.
I have a number of things to say about this update. First of all, let's get the NSF update out of the way first. I have seven new NSFs for you to download.
You can get the NSFs HERE.
Error Corrections
Southern Crystal Technology NSFs have been accurately retitled as Shenzhen Nanjing Technology. Thanks to D (Derrick Sobodash) for the translation.
Fong Shen Bang - Zhu Lu Zhi Zhan has been removed from my archive, as the NSF has already been ripped by myu2203. The reason why I had ripped the NSF is because the name of the game was mislabled, the correct name as I had been informed is Fengshen Bang. Thanks to D for the error correction. D has also converted and tagged the NSF into NSFE format.
Also, Street Fighter V Turbo 60 has been re-added to the NEWNSF page. Somehow the NSF was never added or it got removed when I was moving NSFs around when I separated them into catagories.
Translation Update
Warehouse No.18 - As some of you may know, according to a few messageboard posts that I am nearing completing the Russian to English translation. All that remains to be done is the title screen hacking. I have found all of the data and it's hackable. I will be making a page for this translation hack soon.
Well, that's all for this update.
A quick error correction update. Architect For PC Jr. was a bad upload. I just fixed the problem and uploaded the NSF again.
I ripped Takeda Shingen 2, which was already ripped by Kingshriek. The reason why I ripped the game is because it was not on one of my NSF lists. Takeda Shingen 1 was, but not 2. I have removed the NSF.
Thanks to Knurek for spotting these two.
As promised I have a literal ton of NSFs to release, the time is now. I have several NSF rips from commercial games and a large set of NSFs from the infamous Southern Crystal Technology game set.
Pirate NSFs
Southern Crystal Technology NSFs
That's all of the NSFs that I have for ya this month. Enjoy the rips and maybe next month I'll have another update. I can't promise the update will be as big as this one.
You can get the NSFs HERE.
What do you know, another update for this month and probably the last one. I have organized my new NSF page, separating the pirate NSF rips from the others and placing them down at the bottom in their own section.
Now it is once again time for the NSF rips.
You can get the NSFs HERE. Stay tuned, sometime next month I am going to have a big update. I promise, you'll love it.
Update: I'm going to be updating Power Punch II again here soon, I've been busy and haven't gotten around to it yet.
Once again, another update this month. I have organized the NSF Central page, separating various materials into categories for easy navigation on one page. I have added a commercial NSF list made by Knurek, that is a list of the NSFs in a pack. I have also added a NSF list made by UGETAB, which tells you where NSFs are located at.
Now it is time for the NSFs. I have four Russian NSFs and three NSF fixes for you this week.
You can get the NSFs HERE.
I have decided to release a few more NSFs this month. A few requests were made by Knurek on the NESDEV message board. They are as follows.
Perhaps I will have more to release next week. You can get them HERE.
Update: I just ripped Grand Master, a request by AkumaHau. Add that rip to the list.
This month is the 5th anniversary of my homepage. This month also brings back a lot of memories of the old days and what I was doing prior to going on my own after Unknown Translations. Since 2003, I've been doing a lot of sound hacking, with the occasional translation hacking and other things as you can see from my previous updates. Also, I would like to thank Sliver-X for the space here at Arc-Nova. He has hosted my website since 2003, prior to that, I had my personal website at Geocities.
This month I was planning on releasing a translation hack, however I have as of yet been unable to beat the game which is a requirement in completing the translation. I may release the translation for the FDS game, Gall Force - Eternal Story sometime in the future. I may mention that I am also announcing the project here. Honookatana has contributed his translation skills to the project, so I say thanks to him.
However, I still have some NSFs to release for this anniversary month, a big whopping twelve pack. I have managed to rip the rest of the AV (Adult Video) games. For those that don't know much about AV games, these are NES/Famicom porno games, most of them have been programmed by the infamous Hacker International.
As of lately and in time honored tradition, I have also ripped a few pirate games, with very famous names that many of you I am sure have heard of. For example, the game Feng Yin Dao which is the Famicom version of Zelda 3. I have Harvest Moon and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, which is named Shen Qi De Mao Zi - The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.
I have also fixed two NSFs. Esper Dream 2 has one tune that has been removed for being a duplicate and missing some sound channels as well. A write to $4017 has been including in the INIT code as well. Lenophis requested a fix to the game Werewolf - The Last Warrior, which had been previously over-optimized. Lenophis then made an NSFE for the NSF rip. In case that you don't know, the NSFE is an extended header format that allows many extra features, including track names, etc. You can get the NSFE at Lenophis' site HERE.
I have also released, what appears to be somewhat of a newer dump to me, that's Go! Benny!. I found the game in the updated Goodnes set. Now I will list the new NSFs for download, you can get them HERE.
That's it for this month's update. Have fun and enjoying listening to the NSF rips.
This month's update will feature a lot of pirate crap, with a lot of famous names and yet not the greatest music you ever heard in your life, let me tell ya. First of all, let's start with the first rip, I Am Teacher (Mario No Sweater), this game is not a pirate. This NSF rip is a FDS expansion sound chip.
The following fixes I've made.
Now, these are the rips that you guys have been waiting for, lol.
Perhaps I'll see ya next month, later.
It's time for a real big update this month. Finally I received the inspiration to update the NSF doc, 20 Levels of NSF Ripping originally by Izumi, translated and expanded by yours truly. The doc is now up to Level 17, do not click on the links specified as Levels 18 - 20, I will be doing those as soon as I can.
Two rips were requested by Sivak, those are NES Open Tournament Gold and Magic Jewelry.
A NSF fix was requested by MegaMatt, the name of the game is Blue Marlin. The rip was missing the noise channel on a couple of tunes.
I randomly picked Street Fighter V Turbo 60 and ripped that game, not sure if it's complete or not.
I also ripped two FDS games that are also part of the NSF doc that I have just updated. Transformers - The Head Masters is a bankswitching FDS Expansion sound rip. Clox - Famimaga is a FDS game and uses a NSF FDS register in the rip, does not have expansion sound.
You can find the updated NSF doc in the documents section. The new NSF rips and the fix on the new NSF page.
You can comment about this update on the Arc-Nova Forum if you wish, or have any error corrections that you wish to report on the updated document.
Well, I would say it's time for another update. I have six NSF rips to present to you at this time. As usual, go to the new NSF page and download. The new NSF rips are as follows.
I found some other things that I had over-written with an older copy of my website. I have to my knowledge fixed all of these problems as best as I could.
Now on to some news. I have managed to rip a few NSF's to jam out on in your spare time. A couple of them have some issues and will not play correctly in Nintendulator and Nestopia, however most of them do. I have one incomplete NSF because of the nature of the code and I haven't been able to play through the entire game to know exactly how some of the tunes are supposed to sound. The incomplete rip is Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. Here is a list of the new ones, some are requests and others I picked randomly from my rom collection.
You can get these rips on the new NSF page located on the NSF Central page. This ends the update.
Now it's time for the first update of the year. On the last update I had made a mistake and used an old copy of my website and overwrote the news page and the New NSF page. The result was that the last update for Bokosuka Wars II was erased and my update for the new NSF page was changed to the old form where the artist and copyright columns were not correct. This has been changed. For those that missed the Bokosuka Wars II hack, you can get that on the hacks page and it's still there.
Now for the real update. I have released two documents to help hackers with their Lode Runner hacks. You can get these on the documents page. Load Runner Palettes and Lode Runner Memory Map.
Stay tuned for the next update and thanks for stopping by.
If you wish to comment on this update, go to the Arc-Nova forum.
Merry Christmas to all my friends and people that vist my site. I hope that all of you enjoy the holiday season with a lot of cheer and good fellowship with family and friends.
Today I am releasing a hack of Bokosuka Wars called Bokosuka Wars II. This hack is more of an improvement hack to improve the game's look. I am also going to call this a work in progress hack for the simple reason is that it's not quite done yet. I thought that I would release the hack today as a christmas gift to all. I think you'll get about five minutes of enjoyment out of this one tops. Go to the hacks section of my site to check it out.
Also, I've recovered one of my old e-mail addresses. I will update the site to reflect the change. This address is gil_galad752003(at)yahoo.com. Change the (at) to @.
You can make comments about this update Here.
I've just updated the NSF Central page with a Arc-Nova's NSF archive link change. Arc-Nova has just updated with a massive game music archive update, thanks once again to Sliver-X.
I also added a NSF optimizing tool that is very useful to the NSF ripper. After the rip is done, you have a few tools to help make sure the rip is clean and trim. It also detects illegal reads and writes, gives warnings about reading without writing, header editor, etc. The tool was coded in Delphi by TNSe, the author of the NES emulator Nesten.
I've just added a miscellaneous page to the main menu. My first article is about an old PC that I own, a Goldstar XT-4. The Goldstar XT-4 is some type of IBM XT-4 clone that was given to me by a friend a few months ago, I've finally decided to make an article about the machine because no information exists that I am aware of currently.
I am still documenting the machine, looking for information, and trying to find a way to dump the software. As more information becomes available, I will make updates. Untill then, enjoy.
I just added two images for the translation I had been working on a few years ago. I added an image of the cart for the game Uchuusen Cosmo Carrier, an image for both the front and the back of the cart. I doubt that I will be working on the game because of a flaw in the game that allows enemies to fire upon you while surfing the menus. At some point in the future, if I decide to fix this annoyance, I may start working on the game once again.
Well, what do you know. I've found another expansion sound NSF known by the game name of Metal Slader Glory. Metal Slader Glory is a MMC5 expansion chip format NSF rip. You can download the rip at the NSF Central Page.
I've added the following FDS expansion sound NSF's, Famicom Tantei Club 2, Risa no Yousei Densetsu. Also, I've included some fixes made by UGETAB. The following fixes have been added to the zip file of the particular game, Akumajou Densetsu, Megami Tensei 2, Rolling Thunder, Santa Claus no Takarabako.
I've found another NSF FDS sound expansion rip. I've added it to the list for download on the NSF Central page for download. Yume Koujou Doki Doki Panic
I've updated the NSF Central page once again with a link to vgm music, thanks to anewuser for the link. This page has other types of game music rips mixed in with the NSF's. I downloaded all of them and cleaned out the other files to provide one zip package to download at your convenience. I also added 8 FDS expansion sound chip NSF's to the list for download on the NSF Central page.
I've also added a FDS game disk list to the documents page.
I've just added pages for all of the hacks that I have on my site. Even though all of the hacks are gameplay and not visual or graphic. I have decided to add a page with image slideshows.
I have done some minor updates to the site and added the Arc-Nova main site link to the left frame.
In order to celebrate this happy occasion that is Halloween, let's have some music from the game called Ghoul School, the NSF file is available for download. Also for your reading pleasure, I will provide an article written by BOGLEECH. Ghoul School Enemies
Happy Halloween to all
Once again I've decided to make another update. In this update I've totally revamped the NSF Central page, in this update I've added a new miscellaneous section with links, programs, etc. Also I've added all of the NSFs that I could find that use expansion sound chips, thanks to Disch for writing a utility to help search through piles of NSF files. I am going to provide a email address in this update so that anyone may contact me if I have missed any NSF expansion chip sound rips. Note: The only NSFs that I am accepting are rips from commercial games only.
My new email address will be gil_galad752003(at)yahoo.com at this time. If you have any questions about updates, requests, comments, by all means do send me an email. Replace (at) with @. (address changed on 12-23-07)
Hello once again bros. I know it's been quite some time since my last update to my website. However, I am back at it again to bring you another update nearly 2 years later. Wow, can you believe it!!
After some thought about how to update my site, I went with a slight update to my current design to make it more pleasing to the eye in my opinion. You'll find a few more graphics on my website this time.
Also, I would like to announce that my website is now located on the host Arc-Nova, the predecessor to Panicus.org. I would like to say a BIG thanks to Sliver-X for the space and hosting once again.
Thanks again my bros, and by all means enjoy the update.
Also I linked and made a new document page for a Japanese language tutorial made for video games. I may update this tutorial at a later time.
I've been working on Asmik Kunland that is renamed Adventures in Asmik Land and I have figured out why the game was crashing at the end and so I fixed that and am waiting for some scripts to be translated. Some other games I have been hacking while waiting for the scripts to come back.
And now for some NSF news. There has been a lot of activity on the NESDEV message forum for ripping NSF's and I've contributed quite a few lately and there is a few that I ripped that was not requested. Here they are and enjoy.

This is it for this month, stay tuned for next month. And maybe not so large as this one.
The next thing is that many of you know Zophar's Domain has the NSF page blank and I took my collection mostly of commercial NSF's and zipped them up and now you can download the entire collection.
And last but not least I changed a lot of the GIF format images to PNG.
You can get the NSF ripping doc in the Document section and in my NSF section. You can also get ZD's NSF collection on the same page.

Super Robin Hood is from Camerica and is unlicensed, this game might have been a prototype to be released later possibly. The rest are good old fashion pirate roms.
I haven't been able to get much translation progress because as some of you know I haven't been able to get Japanese text display to work on this PC properly. As soon as I get the problem solved Star Wars is first on my list.
Here is the NSF's that I've updated here.
Aiigina no Yogen
Backgammon FDS
Cattou Ninden Teyandee
Chuka Taisen
Conflict
Captain Skyhawk
Dezaemon
Golgo 13 - Top Secret Episode
Heavy Shreddin'
Paaman 2 - Down with the Secret Madou Society

UPDATE: Forgot to upload the Qix fix update. Get it in the NSF section.
Double Dribble
Nightshade
Olympic IQ
Waixing Zhan Shi(Phantasy Star 4)
Sanrio Cup Pon Pon Volley
Tecmo Baseball
I've updated Santa Claus's Toybox translation. The problem was that in the title screen insertion that some of the leaves got taken out and I didn't notice them till later. And it's surprising that no one else noticed them. That's fixed now and I have a 1.01 complete translation of the game.
One funny thing about the 12-25-2003 update is that I thought that The Red Eye was going to write a review of this game and I even redirected to this site on my page and on the readme to the patch. The reason is because he ripped off the graphics to Santa Claus's Toybox for his christmas page. And So I was fooled into believing that he was going to review the game. WRONG.
xodnizel gave me a list of all the N106 expanded sound games and would you know that one of my rips is a N106 game with the expanded sound. And that's Family Circuit 91. And so I set the header on the rip and it sounds a hell of a lot better. Also upon request from some of the people that work at ZD I've noted how many tunes are in each rip on the .FRM file.
Star Wars namco is comming a long nicely and I should have a release shorty depending on what's going on arround here and if I don't get lazy. This ends this years update and hopefully I will keep on updating. Happy New Year!!
Also you can get the NSF for this game. Note that this NSF rip is an FDS NSF and I highly recommend that you use VirtuaNES to run this music file. Also to play the game you can use just about any NES emulator that supports FDS games. However if you want the full music effect I would go with VirtuaNES.
Yes this is Christmas day and it's all about giving and having a good time with friends and familly. And most of all about having fun. And I would like to say merry Christmas to everyone.
Also I've recovered some data that I thought was long lost from a hard drive crash awhile ago and I uploaded most of my data to another back up host and forgot about it. And in celebration I thought that I would give you a music hack of Zelda 2's title screen music. It's in the NSF form for easy listening. Here
That's all for now I think. More to come later.

And so this ends this small update.
I've uploaded some of the NSF's that was listed in the 09-18-2003 update for the most part. Some of these NSF's have not been uploaded because some of them was already ripped or someone beat me to it. For instance Flipull - An Exciting Cube Game, Matrixz from Dragon Eye Studios beat me to it before I could update it. New Zealand Story, The was ripped as another game and I think it was Kiwi Kraze that was ripped by Memblers.
No translation news at this time, other then progressing in different projects.
Thanks for visiting and see you next month possibly.

AD&D Pool of Radiance

Otaku no Seiza - An adventure in Otaku Galaxy

I have updated Uchuusen Cosmo Carrier NSF rip to be less complete. However the rip does not sound the same as when you play the ROM so I'm leaving it as incomplete. Also I have some more NSF rips. The reason of why I'm not uploading them is that I don't have enough room in my flopy disk. I dont have a internet connection right now so I'm transfering them to a friends computer. I will upload these rips at a later time in the next update. Whenever that will be.

And now back to some more translation related material. I've been struggling with translating japanese and so I've taken some games that have already been localized from the respective companies and reviewed the translation and I've learned quite abit from doing this. What I did was is wrote down what I did and how I did it. And for a couple of games at that. I might make this into a tutorial in the future if anyone requests it. I will give you a page for each game that I reviewed and translated myself. You need some type of Japanese text display to see the shift-jis format text. You can get IE Japanese text support if you have Internet Explorer. I dont know about the other browsers.

Final Fantasy 1
Battle of Olympus, The
This ends this update with some ammount of progress. So you can expect the rest of the NSF's to be uploaded on the next update. Also some translation progress as well. I wish you a good day and remember "hack the romhs bro".
Also in other news,I have updated my Super Mario Bros. 1 Super Hard Type Hack so that the enemies are much faster and some of the bugs have been solved as well.
